Some of the must visit places in Tirumala are –
- Swami Pushkarini
Swami Pushkarini is a huge lake located next to Sri Venkateswara temple. Many pilgrims bath in Pushkarini before visiting the main temple.
Swami Pushkarini was originally in Vaikuntam and belonged to Sri Maha Vishnu. It was set on Earth by Garuda for the sport of Sri Venkateswara. Devotees have a strong faith that bathing in the Swami Pushkarini is equivalent to bathing in the holy river, Ganges.
- Sri Varaha Swamy Temple
Located in front of Swami Pushkarni is the Sri Varahaswami Temple. Tirumala was originally Adi Varaha Kshetra and it is said that with his permission Lord Sri Venkateswara took up residence here.
According to Brahma Purana, pilgrims should first offer naivedyam to Sri Adi Varaha Swami before visiting the Sri Venkateswara Temple.
- Sri Hathiramjee Mutt
Situated in the south of the main temple is the Hathiramjee mutt. This mutt is very familiar & popular in Tirumala.
- Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple
Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswami Temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located on Sannidhi Street, opposite to the main temple. It is hardly a 5 mins walk from the main temple.
- Srivari Paadalu
One of the important places to visit in Tirumla is the Srivari Paadalu. It is also called as Tirupada (Holy feet of the Lord) & is located at the highest point of Narayanagiri.
There is a stron belief that, this is the place where Lord Venkateswara first set his feet on Earth. The foot print is available here and devotees visit this place at the top of Narayanagiri hill for the divine sight. Sila Thoranam
- Paap Vinasanam
Paap Vinasam is a small waterfall whose waters are treated sacred and have healing powers. As the name suggests, Papavinasam is the place where all the devotees frequent with the belief that a holy bath would redeem them from their sins.
- Akasa Ganga Water Falls
Another sacred waterfall situated on the foothill of Venkatadri Tirumala is Akasa Ganga.The waterfall is about 5 km from the main Tirumala Tirupati Balaji Temple and the Tirumala Nambi family is allowed to carry the holy water from the waterfall to the temple.
- Chakra Theertham
Located next to Sila Thornam is a famous pond know as Chakra Theertham. Chakra Theertham beholds a Swayambhu Lingam.
- Sila Thornam
Located close to Srivari Paadalu, Sila Thoranam is a natural rock formation in the shape of an arch and it is the only one of its kinds in Asia.
Sila Thoranam literally means garland of rocks. It is commonly known as Rock Garden.
- Shri Venu Gopal Swami
Shri Venu Gopal Swami is a temple maintained & managed by Shri Hatiramjee Mutt members. This small & beautiful temple falls on the way while you travel to Akasa Ganga & Paap Vinasam
