Tirumala Navaratri Brahmotsavams: Divine Blessings of Lord Venkateshwara on Sun and Moon Vahanas

The seventh day of Navaratri Brahmotsavams showed a great look of Tirumala temple when Lord Balaji blessed his devotees on Suryaprabha and Chandraprabha Vahanas, on 22nd October 2020. The morning seva started with Suryaprabha Vahana i.e. the Sun God who is the symbol of good health and bright future and the main source of light. Lord Balaji appeared in Trivikrama Avataram on Suryaprabha Vahana, and the deity was colourfully decorated with varieties of flowers, in the Kalyanotsava Mandapam.

It is believed that the Sun God’s chariot is dragged by seven horses, which is the key architect of life with Anura being his charioteer. Therefore, according to myths, Lord Venkateshwara on Suryaprabha Vahana provides long life and good health, prosperity to devotees. Deputy Speaker Kona Raghupathi visited Tirumala for darshan and showed his participation the Suryaprabha seva.

After the morning seva came to an end, later in the evening, the processional deity of Lord Balaji was decorated in Navanitha Krishna alankaram. The deity was seated on Chandraprabha vahana, the God of Moon, and blessed his devotees.

At the end of the evening seva, Tirumala pontiffs Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and Chinna Jeeyar Swamy conducted the religious formalities for Lord Malayappa Swamy asusal. The deity was placed in the original condition as it was before seva and both the vahanas were placed in the Kalyanotsava Mandapam, inside the temple.
