Tirumala Navaratri Brahmotsavams: Tirumala Swami Takes Kalki Avatram on the Eighth Day of the Festival

Tirumala looked more glorious with Swami taking a ride on Aswa Vahanam (the horse ride) yesterday on 23rd of October. The morning seva started with Swami and his wives Bhuma Devi and Sri Devi, decorated with a flower-decked golden chariot. Due to the COVID-19 rules imposed on Navaratri Brahmotsavams, both the morning and evening sevas were held in Ekantham.
The utsava idols of Lord Balaji and his two consorts were positioned atop the Sarvabhoopala Vahanam, and the vahanam was placed in the Kalyanotsava Mandapam inside the Tirumala temple. Sarvabhoopalam means the supreme power and commander of the entire universe and sitting on the vahanam, Swami blesses his devotees conveying a message that he is the one who rules and controls the world.
Later in the evening, Lord Balaji was mounted on the Aswa Vahanam and blessed his devotees in Kalki Avataram. Hindu people believe that Kalki is the last avataram of Lord Vishnu and after this the world destroys and takes a new form. Some believe that Lord Sri Vishnu puts an end to all the evil forces on the earth in Kalki Avataram.
Once the sevas were complete, the final religious formalities for the day happened under the supervision of Pedda Jeeyar Swami and Chinna Jeeyar Swami who are called as Tirumala Pontiffs and in the presence of other superior officials of TTD.
The Vahana Sevas of Navaratri Brahmotsavams in Tirumala will come to an end by today, i.e. 24th of October, 2020, with performing Chakrasnanam to Lord Venkteshwara inside the temple itself. The concluding ceremony which is the immersion of Chakrathalwar after Snapana Thirumanjanam to the deities will also be held inside the shrine.
