Tirupati–Tirumala Navaratri Brahmotsavams: Lord Venkateshwara Blesses Devotees in Ekantham on the Great Garuda Vahanam at Tirumala Temple

Successfully and delightfully, the fifth day of Navaratri Brahmotsavams were held at Tirumala with Lord Balaji on Garuda, his own vahanam, in the evening of 20th October 2020, and the day started with Swamy in Mohini (a female) avataram, blessing all his devotees, inside the temple.

Lord Malayappa Swamy was fully decorated with the most precious and antique ornaments such as the Makarakanti, Lakshmi Haram, Salagarama Mala, along with wearing a palm-sized emerald diamond on the chest. Garuda Seva is considered auspicious because Garuda, the form of eagle, is Swamy’s own vahanam. It is believed that two Garudas sit at the entrance of Vaikunatam, the place where Lord Vishnu appears in sleeping position inside the dwarakas of Vaikuntam which is said to have uncountable number of doors.

This is why Garudas are called as Dwara palakas in Vaikuntam, and Lord Balaji upon his personal request wanted Garuda to be his Vahanam. Earlier in the day, Swamy enthralled his devotees by appearing in the Mohini avataram. Once the sevas are complete, both the vahanams were placed inside the temple and the deity was taken to the normal position and place.

Keep watching this pace for more interesting news about Navaratri Brahmotsavams sevas and other happenings in and around Tirumala and Tirupati on the eve.
